The flights need to fulfill the following criteria:

  1. They need to have a BA flight number or be a transatlantic flight with British Airways (BA), American Airlines (AA), Iberia (IB), or Finnair (AY).
  2. You can also fly domestic flights in South Africa (operated by their partners Comair, Sunnair, and CityFlyer)
  3. Award flights or Avios upgrades are not permitted
  4. This offer does not apply to flights operated by British Airways’ franchise partners, codeshare partners, and oneworld alliance members.

The travel class is irrelevant.

Terms & Conditions

1. Eligibility

1.1. This promotion is only open to Eligible Participants. An Eligible Participant is a British Airways (“BA”) Executive Club Member. You can become an Eligible Participant by joining the Executive Club, using code 20DBAV which will automatically register you for this promotion. British Airways reserves the right to verify the eligibility of Eligible Participants. By taking part in either promotion, Eligible Participants confirm that they accept the Terms and Conditions set out below.

2. Registration and Promotion dates

2.1. Eligible Participants must register for the promotion between 30 July and 31 August 2020 (Promotional Period), at the offer page before booking a Qualifying Flight or Qualifying Holiday and follow the “Register now” link provided. A “thank you” message will be displayed to confirm that your registration for the promotion has been successful.

2.2. Registration must take place before booking in order to qualify.

2.3. Eligible Participants must book all Qualifying Flights and Qualifying Holidays by 23:59 BST 31 August 2020 and all travel to be completed by 23:59 GMT 31 December 2020 (Travel Period).

2.4. To qualify for the Double Avios offer, Eligible Participants must quote their Executive Club membership number at the time of booking. British Airways will not be liable or responsible if an incorrect Executive Club membership number is supplied by an Eligible Participant.

2.5. The promotion cannot be used retrospectively. The promotion only applies to those who register, book and travel during the Promotion Period and Travel Period.

3. Promotion 1: Double Avios on Flights

3.1. Double Avios is available on up to ten Qualifying Flights.

3.2. Double Avios is calculated from the base Avios, this is before any Tier or cabin bonuses are applied.

3.3. Double Avios is awarded on the first ten Qualifying Flights that are flown post registering and booking. The order of booking does not determine the order in which the Double Avios for the Qualifying Flights are awarded.

4. Double Avios Qualifying Flight

4.1. A Qualifying Flight is a single leg of a journey that departs from one location and lands in another, e.g. Edinburgh to London.

4.2. All Qualifying Flights must be booked between 30 July 2020 and 31 August 2020 (Promotional Period).

4.3. All Qualifying Flights must be travelled between: 30 July 2020 and 23:59 GMT 31 December 2020 (Travel Period).

4.4. A Qualifying Flight is a flight with a British Airways prefix on any selling class or cabin on any British Airways operated service (excluding Reward flights or upgrades using Avios) or any flight included as part of a British Airways holiday and any flight with a British Airways prefix on a transatlantic flight, marketed by British Airways (BA), operated by British Airways (BA), American Airlines (AA), Iberia (IB) or Finnair (AY) between Europe and North America. The promotion also applies to travel on domestic flights within the UK, and within southern Africa, operated by Comair, Sunnair and CityFlyer.
4.4.1. Any other flights operated by any other British Airways franchises, codeshare partners or oneworld alliance members will not qualify for the promotion.

4.5. Qualifying Flights can be booked as a one way, returns, multi trip bookings or as part of a holiday, where each individual leg counts towards the maximum of ten Qualifying Flights.
4.5.1. One-way example: New York–London with no return would be one Qualifying Flight.
4.5.2. Return example: New York-London-New York would be two Qualifying Flights.
4.5.3. Multi Trip example: New York-London-Edinburgh-London-New York would be four Qualifying Flights.

4.6. Qualifying Flights are subject to availability and capacity control in the booking classes eligible for this promotion at the time of booking. British Airways does not accept any liability if Eligible Participants are unable to book a Qualifying Flight for their chosen period of travel.

5. Double Avios awarding on Qualifying Flights

5.1. Double Avios awarded for a Qualifying Flight is double the value of the base Avios that would have been awarded to the Member for that flight outside of the promotion period.

5.2. Eligible Participants who complete any Qualifying Flights will be automatically awarded double Avios 24-48 hours after completion of each Qualifying Flight, up to a maximum of ten Qualifying Flights.

5.3. Double Avios is awarded on the first ten Qualifying Flights that are flown post registering and booking. The order of booking does not determine the order in which the Double Avios for the Qualifying Flights are awarded.

6. Promotion 2: Double Avios on Holidays

6.1. Double Avios are only awarded to Executive Club Members who are registered Members in the United Kingdom (UK) or United States (US). For Flights + Hotel, Flights + Car, or Flights + Hotel + Car bookings the flight element of the booking must originate in the member’s registered country (UK or US) to be eligible for Double Avios. For example, a registered member from the UK, must start their eligible outward journey (British Airways or British Airways codeshare flight) from a UK airport.

6.2. Double Avios on Qualifying Holidays is calculated as two Avios for every £/$1 spent on the total cost of a Qualifying Holiday (instead of the usual one Avios for every £/$1 spent).

6.3. Double Avios is available on Qualifying Holidays and the flight element counts towards the ten Qualifying Flights in Promotion 1.

7. Double Avios Qualifying Holiday

7.1. A Qualifying Holiday is a new holiday booking made after the Member has registered for the promotion that is:
7.1.1. booked between 30 July 2020 and 31 August 2020 (Promotional Period).
7.1.2. travelled between: 30 July 2020 and 23:59:59 GMT 31 December 2020 (Travel Period).

7.2. To be eligible for Double Avios, the flight element of any combination of the booking (Flights + Hotel, Flights + Car, or Flights + Hotel + Car) must originate in the UK or US, depending on where the member is registered in accordance with clause 6.1.

7.3. A Qualifying Holiday must be booked on ba.com or via the British Airways contact centre only to be eligible for Double Avios.

7.4. Any flights booked as part of a Qualifying Holiday will count towards the maximum of ten Qualifying Flights under Promotion 1.

7.5. The promotion does not apply to any bookings made with partners via external sites, including with Executive hotel partners or Avios travel partners.

7.6. A hotel or car hire booking made without a flight will not qualify for this promotion. A hotel or car hire added to a flight booking where the elements are priced separately and not as a package under one price will not qualify as a Qualifying Holiday for Double Avios.

8. Double Avios awarding on Qualifying Holidays

8.1. Eligible Participants who pay for and travel on any Qualifying Holiday, will be awarded the bonus Avios after the trip is completed in accordance with clause 8.2 below.

8.2. Two Avios per £/$1 spent, consists of one base Avios and one bonus Avios. Please note the Avios awarded for the different elements of a Qualifying Holiday will be awarded at different times:
8.2.1.The base Avios will be awarded four to six weeks after completion as per Terms and Conditions.
8.2.2. The bonus Avios will be awarded four to eight weeks after completion.
8.2.3. The flight element of any Qualifying Holiday is awarded as per the Avios awarding on Qualifying Flights under promotion 1.
8.2.4. If Avis car rental has been booked within the Qualifying Holiday, the 500 minimum Avios will also be awarded as per the Avis Terms and Conditions.

9. General Terms and Conditions

9.1. Bookings made over the telephone may carry non-refundable fees per person per ticket. For details on telephone numbers for your region, please refer to ba.com contact us. Bookings from participating countries may incur a booking/service fee. For details of booking/service fees for your region, please refer to our Global service fees. Calls from mobiles may vary. Please contact your travel agent / travel partner for any applicable service fees when purchasing a ticket from them and requesting the specific booking date and flight details.

9.2. Avios are not transferable and no cash or credit alternative will be offered. The promotion has no cash value. All Avios and Tier points are issued subject to the Executive Club membership Terms and Conditions and the Avios Conditions of Use will apply.

9.3. Eligible Participants who change their travel arrangements after the date of booking will not be eligible for any Avios bonus award unless their revised travel is within the qualifying Promotion Period and Travel Period.

9.4. All bookings under this promotion will be covered by the fare rules and conditions of the original fare. This includes any applicable refund and change fees. All refunds are subject to the fare rules for the class of ticket booked. Fare rules and conditions appear in your booking details when you access your booking on ba.com through the ‘Manage my booking’ functionality.

9.5. All Passengers are carried by British Airways in accordance with its General Conditions of Carriage for Passengers and Baggage and its Notice and Conditions of Contract as stated on each ticket or itinerary as provided.

9.6. British Airways reserves the right to cancel or amend the Terms and Conditions of this promotion without notice in the event of major catastrophe, war, strike, civil or military disturbance, earthquake or any actual, anticipated or alleged breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other similar events beyond the reasonable control of British Airways.

9.7. Personal data will be taken where necessary from Eligible Participants, but shall be limited to those details reasonably necessary for the administration of the promotion and shall be subject to British Airways’ Privacy Policy. This information may be shared with any third parties reasonably involved in the promotion without liability to British Airways or such third parties.

9.9. Subject to clauses 9.9.1 to 9.9.3 below, the promotion and any other non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with it is governed exclusively by English law and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales:
